Baramati
Taluka Sahakari Doodh Utpadak Sangh was registered
in the year 1977 with the intention of procuring
milk from its member societies and paying remunerative
price for the milk purchased. In the former
years the sangh was developed by late Shri.Appasaheb
Pawar. He had tremendous consciousness for poor
people and he thought that milk production could
be only possible subsidiary business for poor
farmers and farm workers. Milk production needs
less capital, less manpower and it is very much
subsidiary of agriculture with all these ideas
in mind Shri.Appasaheb Pawar organised a Taluka
Milk Union and network of dairy societies in
almost every village of Baramati Taluka.
In
the initial stage the sangh was collecting milk
from village dairy societies and delivering
it to Government dairy. However since milk rates
offered by Govt. were less as compared to those
of private dairies, the sangh was unable to
pay remunerative prices to the milk producers.
This became limiting factor in the progress
of the milk union.
Presently
sangh is progressing under the dynamic leadership
of the Honourable Shri.Sharadchandraji Pawarsaheb
& Shri Ajitdada Pawar. They thought that
sangh must sell its milk in urban market and
only then we can pay competitive price to the
milk producers. Accordingly under their guidance
and help sangh is creating facilities for processing
and packaging of milk.
